Apps to Chillax
Here is Our Guide for Selecting Apps to Chillax
The urban dictionary defines “chillax” as “a mixture of chill out and relax”. I first heard the term from an English teacher friend who set aside a special, cozy place in her classroom for her students to “chillax”. Students who completed their assignments could relax and unwind in the “chillax” corner with a good book until the bell rang to change classes. It’s a great word that has stuck in my brain ever since. For me, it describes the time of evening when all of the hustle and bustle of carpool, homework, dinner, chores, bath time, etc. all dies down and our household begins gradually settle into quiet, night time mode. We read stories with the youngest ones before sending them off to bed. The teens and tweens depart for their rooms for “quiet” activities so that the younger ones can get to sleep. This is our time to chillax.
I like to read as a way to unwind before bed. My husband enjoys reading as well as puzzles, like Sudoku, as a way to relax his brain after a long day of working on the computer. Lately, we have been noticing that more and more frequently, the iPad has become a part of our chillax time routine. Here is a list of some of our favorite apps to chillax.
